man.Stephen King.
everybody likes stephen king.

i have not read one of his books since like the age of 14, but his shit is pretty fucked up.
i really like his short story collections the best, but i also dug The Shining, Pet Semetary and Cycle of the Werewolf. The Stand was pretty good too, but was made into a shitty tv movie.
i started to read the Dark Tower books, but i lost interrest after the third one.

well, after a certain point, his stuff is all ghost-written.. he just writes a couple of character developments, and then a general synopsis, and then some hacks churn out his drivel...

used to be one of my faves, read everything up to and including tommyknockers, but after that he quickly got boring.. (this was the alleged time that the ghost writing began)...

the stand was good, but no where near the level of epic-ness it should have been..ppl hype it up based on size...it's long, but that doesn't mean it should be his magnum opus..

i really liked the dark tower seried up until about volume 5 (supposedly the only ones he was really writing after the ghost writer stuff), but around volume 5 he started forcing it, feeling like (to me) he was under pressure to wrap the whole cycle up... started getting wussy... the whole thing started off with this tough as nails cowboy western vibe, but just eventually degenerated into cuddly fuzzy feel goodness...
