Anyone know of any good books written by blind people?
Borges kind of went blind later in his life.
but I wonder how someone that has never seen anything would approach writing, since so much of it deals with things like imagery. |

| yeah, that's how the story goes, although homer could have also been multiple people. Charming though, isn't it? |

i at one time interviewed a bunch of blind people about their dreams because i was interested in hearing the non sighted describe what is usually described in "visual" terms
what was interesting was that even the people i talked to that had been blind since birth "described" rooms in a way that was akin to how most people would describe room in their dreams " i walked in there was a table in the middle of the room"
the results were in conclusive however for what i was trying to prove :
that dreaming is visual function that does not require physical sight
...mmm
we see things in our dreams ..wether or not we can actually see ..
in the end however it would appear that though this does happen SOME its not the usual ..most of the people i talked to who had been blind since birth still described their dreams in the way that they usually describe things .. IE "i walked into a room and felt my way to the table in the middle"
..
this thread reminded me of this |
