July 1st and 3rd 2006 Electronic Showcase at Cass Cafe

Greetings from the Cass Cafe! This Fourth of July weekend, Cass Cafe offers Detroiters a cover-free two night electronic music showcase starting at 9p.m. and 8 p.m. dedicated to the music makers of the city. These nights promise listeners emotionally driven raucous rhythms topped with eerily melodic, yet placid, harmonic grooves. Featured live acts and DJ’s for July 1st and 3rd include: milieu, Mike Clark, Adjust, GODANDHISBITCHES, Detroit Techno Militia, Colin Zyskowski, Andy Toth, Rob Barrett, Matt Caputo, MD! and Bombscare, Greg Mudge and Vox Pop. These nights are free of charge and will be held until 3a.m.

Saturday July 1st, POTSANDHAMMERS 3 begins at 9pm. The POTSANDHAMMERS series present the darker, more experimental, and “break-ier” side of electronic music, and this time around hometown IDM hero (and LOW RES records label head) Adjust will headline a live set along with a live performance of noisecore, experimentation by GODANDHISBITCHES. Opening for the show will be MD! and Bombscare (nefarious.net, detroitluv.com), Detroit Techno Militia (DTM), and milieu.

Monday July 3rd [no title] begins at 8p.m.: This evening’s showcase features the artists of People Mover Productions and house junkie Mike Clark. People Mover will feature live sets from Movement '06 artists Colin Zyskowski (D Records) and Andy Toth (D Records) and two DJ sets from Rob Barrett and Matt Caputo. Mike Clark will be throwing down his usual Detroit house grooves as openers Greg Mudge (gm313.com) and Vox Pop (area10media.com) hold down the rest of the night with the possibility of a special guest.

The two night free event is put together by intheburrows.com (detroit revival society) headed by musician/DJ Mike Woo (milieu). His event productions included the monthly series :broken circuit: at Foran's and The Belmont Bar, which brought out artists like The Flashbulb (Rephlex, Suburban Trash), Hrvatski (Planet Mu, Kranky), and Warn Defever (His Name Is Alive), the weekly [sonoroussouse] at the Cass Cafe, POTSANDHAMMERS 1 and 2 featuring Doormouse (Addict Records, Planet Mu) and Adjust (LOW RES), and the AMORPHOUS PUDDLE OF SOUND weekly at Xhedos Cafe.
