A tongue in cheek play on the long standing 'Noise Pancakes' event from S.F., Breakcore pancakes has sought to wake people up with loud, abrasive music and pancakes, and send them into their Sunday. The truth is that it's not always breakcore, exploring a variety of contemporary electronic sounds in through both live and dj sets. One of the most productive additions to this project has been various skillshares that we conduct during the event, for instance the DIY solar panel project and other experiments in alternative technology. Read below for more detail on activities on each individual event.

Hot on our way to Schizophrenia 3, Breakcore pancakes #1 got us up early in the morning and then out the door to Chicago for the pre-party there. A prelude to a great weekend of ideas and friends.

Day after pancakes from the Vasculator show thrown by Traits. A morning of great DJ sets culminated in a spur of the moment collaboration between Split Horizon and Vasculator. Check the squall site for recordings!

Breakcore pancakes #3 featured our first skill share - building a DIY solar panel. We soldered and wired together broken solar panel pieces (basically industrial waste) to create a working, electricity generating solar panel which is now is use outside our space! Dj Sets as usual from Deadlines and Jstat, with special DJ appearance by Selector Catalogue.

This time we did some basics towards constructing a wind turbine - quite an involved endeavor. Amid winding coils, Greg Trash threw down an overview of music to be released on No Room for Talent Records while Realicide hung out and later recorded interviews and sets for Squall, along with a very special interview of Greg by Robert Inhuman.

Following up a visit to Detroit by Toronto friends Parul (Dj Blndr), Skeeter, and The First Seed, we ate pancakes and this time went over the art of making seed balls (to spread wildflowers to difficult ares of the city). Once again check Squall podcast for recording of sets from this morning and the night before.

Friends from Pittsburgh (Vasculator, 8 Cylinder, and Cutups) traveled to play Void Soundsystem. Breakcore Pancakes the next day yielded an outrageously good DJ set from cutups and an impromptu collaboration with 8cylinder and Vasculator.
